CIJ is Cancelled, but Needs are Not

For the past few years at Cherish, we have celebrated Christmas in July as a way to communicate tangible needs for the year. Since this year has been unlike any other (for us and for many of you), it just didn’t feel right to move forward with this campaign. So far 2020 has been a wild ride and we’ve had our own twists and turns as we figure out how to serve those in need while Cherish Schools are shut down. Daily life at Cherish has looked a lot different, but we have enjoyed connecting with our patients and the families of our students in new ways.

We won’t be pushing a large CIJ campaign this year, but we do still have many big needs. For any of those who have been blessed during this stressful season and still want to give back this July, below are current needs at Cherish Uganda. There are many needs beyond this list, but these are the big ticket items we’d like to tackle before year end to help us finish the year strong and prepare for a great 2021.

Current Needs:

• New Ambulance for Cherish Health Center

• Rebuild of Cherish Primary School classrooms

• Funding to bring on more counselors and social workers

• Computer Lab

• Tech (2 laptops, 2 phones)

• Soundproofing and Signage for the Office
