Coronavirus Hasn't Stopped the Cherish Family from Growing!

Life hasn't stopped, it’s only looked different.

Since the start of the global pandemic we’ve celebrated 2 marriages, 1 proposal and introduction party (similar to an engagement party), and we’ve welcomed one new baby to the Cherish family!

We are thankful for our health and for the goodness that has come through this difficult season. May God bless these marriages and lives as their love overcame this season!

Michael and Allen shared their vows during the height of the pandemic, on April 10th. Michael works as a security guard and Allen used to work in our homes and hospital. They might while working together at Cherish. Although they weren’t able to have a large celebration, they had those they loved by their side and friend Joel (whom he met at Cherish) serving as the best man.

Eddie wears many hats at Cherish Uganda - working with teams, IT, admin, etc. We look forward to seeing Eddie in the role of a husband! He proposed to Doreen and had his introduction (similar to an engagement party where he gets to meet her family) on May 31st. On June 6th, Joseph and Scovia (who both are on Cherish’s security team) said their vows at a. small church ceremony and had a small outdoor reception on Cherish grounds. Since stay-at-home orders in Uganda are not as strict currently, Cherish staff were able to cook, serve food, stand in as groomsmen, and dance with the newly married couple while being cautious and remaining at a respectful social distance.
