Season of Giving with Faith
Since it’s the Season of Giving, we're exploring generosity with our Cherish Family. By sharing stories about the spirit of giving from board members, staff, and students, we hope your heart can be flooded with warm memories of giving from your past and present. We’d love to hear who inspired you to be generous!
Discussion on Generosity
with Faith, Cherish Computer Lab Student (now a graduate!)
(1) Who/From where did you learn to be generous?
“Generosity” used to be just a word that I knew but didn’t understand. Luckily I got to know the true meaning of it when I got a foster Mother. She gave me time, gifts and much more but most importantly her attitude towards giving made me fall in love with giving too! She said “ giving makes both me happy and the one I am giving.”
(2) Why do you choose to be generous?
Choosing to be generous gives me a warm feeling and truly, it makes the one you're being generous to, happy. I choose to be generous because I know it makes a change, mends and makes friendships.
(3) What’s the most meaningful gift you’ve ever given or received?
The most meaningful gift I have ever given is time.
(4) Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
Yes! I do have a favorite Christmas memory. It was my first Christmas celebration. I had breakfast in bed and spent the whole day with my family. It was a good first-time experience!
