Season of Giving with Alex
Since it’s the Season of Giving, we're exploring generosity with our Cherish Family. By sharing stories about the spirit of giving from board members, staff, and students, we hope your heart can be flooded with warm memories of giving from your past and present. We’d love to hear who inspired you to be generous!
Discussion on Generosity
with Alex, a Cherish Computer Lab Student (now a graduate!)
(1) Who/from where did you learn to be generous?
I learned giving from the community that I live in and that is Cherish Uganda, Cherish Uganda gives expecting nothing, doing it to God but even times as we people we give expecting in return and it gave me a big lesson that giving is not all about expecting.
(2) Why do you choose to be generous?
I choose to be generous because the bible tells me that we are not of the world so things of the world should not drive us off the road.
(3) What’s your favorite Christmas Memory?
We used to do a fire camp at Cherish Uganda Volleyball pitch and eat fruits like mangoes and jackfruit that night, after we ate candies and later we started praying immediately after prayers we started to share testimonies and after testimonies, we gave out gifts to each other.
I am so glad for these questions, after I had answered these questions I was like I need to check myself for the things I do daily and whether they are the right things to be done or not.
